Christophe Betmalle is a French painter and sculptor. Native of Paris he settled in Rome in 2015. The main theme of his work is the multifaceted identity of human personality. In his painted and sculptural work he explores the relationship between the exterior appearance (what each of us shows on the outside) and the inner world with its unconscious intricacies. ‘’Who am I? Who is the other? ” This is the central question that recurs in all of his creations. The faces and the glances present in his art, rather than being physical portraits are portraits of emotions.
